Social Media Today: World Cup Stats, Iraq Blocks Social, PLL Returns Strong

On the first day of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, more than 58 million Facebook users created over 140 million interactions.
According to the Facebook Data Science Team, the top countries in terms of conversations about the match were: Brazil, U.S., England, Indonesia, and France.
Over on Twitter, there were some 12.2 million tweets sent during the Brazil Croatia match.

Iraq blocks social sites
Twitter, Facebook,YouTube are among some of the sites that have been blocked in Iraq.
According to International Business Times reports, the Iraq government shut down access to the sites "over fears that the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant was using the outlets to organize their insurgency."

ABC Family hit one of most tweeted shows
Tuesday night's season five premiere of ABC Family's "Pretty Little Liars" attracted nearly 250,000 reactions out of more than one million Tweets, becoming the 4th most tweeted episode of a scripted series this year.
