Facebook offers privacy checkups

Facebook has announced it's giving a privacy checkup to all of its 1.28 billion users.

Over the next few weeks, the social network will start rolling out a new and expanded privacy checkup tool. It will walk users through the privacy settings for their status updates, the privacy of key pieces of information on their profile, and remind them of the apps that have permission to use their Facebook data.

The company will also change the default settings for new users by initially setting their posts to "friends only."

Google+ launches new feature

Google has rolled out a new tool that will automatically create a digital scrapbook of your vacation photos.

Google+ Stories will be able to pick out your best  photos and organize them when users back them up to Google+.

The new tool will also tag images with city names, and display the names of restaurants, hotels and airports you visited. All stories are private by default, but users can edit or share stories publicly after they are created.

The feature will be integrated into both web and mobile versions of Google+.

Spotify reaches an important milestone

Spotify has reached the 10 million subscriber mark, up from 6 million subscribers in March 2013.

In a blog post, the music streaming service also announced 40 million active users, that number is up from 24 million.
