Social Media Tips Lead To Arrest Of Disney 'Villains' Makeup Thief
GLOUCESTER Twp., N.J. (CBS)--On September 25th at approximately at 10:48 a.m., employees working in the Walgreen's on Kearsley Road observed a female standing by the Disney's "Villains" makeup display.
They observed that the suspect was sanding with a black bag over her shoulder that appeared empty and crushed down. A few minutes later, employees noticed the suspect quickly walking and exiting the store, with the same black bag that appeared to be packed full.
Employees then checked the Disney "Villains" display and noticed that six packages of makeup were missing.
The suspect was described as a White or Hispanic female, medium complexion, medium to heavy build, with brown hair, wearing a large black t-shirt and blue jeans. The suspect drove a white four door Jeep.
Employees posted the suspect's description on various social media outlets including, Facebook, Google +, Twitter, the Gloucester Township Police Department's Community Notification System (CNS), Global Connect, and the Citizen Observers "tip411."
Several anonymous tips were received shortly after posting the description and those tips led to the development of a person of interest.
An investigation was launched by the Gloucester Township Police Department who went on to charge Linda Bennett, a 49-year-old female from Gloucester Township, with shoplifting approximately $60.00 worth of Disney "Villains" cosmetics.
Bennett was processed and released pending a future court appearance.
