Social Media Campaign Reminds Followers 'Littering Is Wrong Too'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Keep Philadelphia Beautiful has launched an interactive litter prevention campaign to link the act of littering with universally accepted wrongdoings.
Would you put ketchup on a pretzel? Ask for brie on your cheesesteak? Or date a Dallas Cowboys fan?
Keep Philadelphia Beautiful is asking people to "write" these and other wrongs in a new interactive litter-prevention campaign.
"Littering is Wrong Too" is a tongue-and-cheek approach that associates the act of littering to wrongdoings like eating sushi that you brought from a gas station or putting an empty milk carton back in the refrigerator.
"It's basically an opportunity to engage people in various social media platforms to equate litter with silly ridiculous brainless things that we see around the city all the time," says Pheobe Cole, the executive director of Keep Philadelphia Beautiful.
The public is encouraged to share videos and photos on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter using the hashtag #litteriswrongtoo. This campaign will run in Philadelphia until September 30, 2012 and you can view these videos and pictures on the Keep Philadelphia Beautiful website.
