Soccer: Philadelphia Union Welcomes Seattle to Chester on Saturday
CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) - The Philadelphia Unions continue to frontrun in the Eastern Conference of MLS, and they will look to continue their strong play on Saturday afternoon when they host the Seattle Sounders FC.
Philadelphia is 3-1, and all three MLS victories have come via shutout (all by 1-0 scores). Midfielder Stefani Miglioranzi told KYW Newsradio this week that the squad is really playing well together.
"We have confidence that whenever something goes wrong, that the next person can step in and help you correct the mistakes," he said, "and certainly I think that has been the case this year."
The Sounders bring a 1-2-2 record into Saturday's match, and Miglioranzi talks about the match-up:
"They are obviously another team that have a lot of pace. We faced one of those teams this past week in New York (1-0 win). I think we just have to be a little bit better once we have the ball. I was the biggest culprit of giving the ball away, once we worked hard to get it back, against New York. If we do much the same against the Seattle, neutralize their speed up front and on the wings, we'll be all right," he said.
