Soccer: Jordan Harvey, Philadelphia Union Ready for West Coast Battle
CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) - After earning a hard-fought point this past weekend, with a 2-2 draw on the road at DC United, the Philadelphia Union will be on the road again on Saturday, visiting San Jose.
Philadelphia continues to pace Major League Soccer's Eastern Conference with 27 points (two points ahead of second place New York), and defender Jordan Harvey says finding a way to wrangle a point out a game like the one with United is what being a winning team is all about.
"These points on the road, any point in this league, can be the difference," he says. "I've been on teams where we've missed out on playoffs due to goal differential -- if we had one more point, we would have been in. Like I said, these points on the road are huge, and it's just important to keep moving forward."

So, next up is the matchup with the Earthquakes on Saturday night, and Harvey says they pose a tough challenge.
"They are a really hard-working team up top, and they don't really give you time to take a day off or anything -- you've got to be on your toes. It's going to be a long travel out there, but I'm actually happy to get out of some of this humidity here on the east coast. It's tough out here!"
Harvey says that on Saturday he will miss the home field advantage the Union enjoy when they play in Chester, and he says the team is quite aware of their following:
"We're just trying to live up to some of those expectations and trying to do it for our fans, because they have been so supportive and so amazing these last couple of years."
Harvey has started all 16 games he has played in this season, and has an assist to his credit. He is an original member of the Union, selected from Colorado in the 2009 expansion draft.
