Don't Depend On Siri To Send Your Smartphone Springing Forward

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Smartphones aren't always so smart. Some Blackberries, iPhones and Android devices have had issues switching back and forth from Daylight Saving Time. You might do well to set a lower-tech alarm, this Sunday.
What does the iPhone think about springing forward?
Reporter: "Siri, when is Daylight Saving Time in 2012?"
Siri: "Daylight Savings Time starts on March 7th."
Wednesday? That's wrong, Siri.
Siri: "Unfortunately, I am as yet imperfect."
Some smartphones have a history of problems when it comes time for what should be an automatic clock change. Last March, many iPhone owners reported their devices lost two hours instead of jumping one. A device restart should do the trick.
But, most people rely on their phones to wake them up in the morning.
Woman: "I really trust my phone."
Man: "It's been my alarm clock for eight years now."
But that won't be a problem for Wendy, who has a backup buzzer, "Just in case I hit the snooze button on the alarm clock and it turns it off."
If only we could all be like Al and Peter, who don't count on technology to tell them it's time to get out of bed.
Al: "When the sun shines, I wake up."
Peter: "When you reach my age, you don't sleep long."
