Slain Philadelphia Police Officer Moses Walker Laid To Rest

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Hundreds gathered this morning at a North Philadelphia church to say a final farewell to slain police officer Moses Walker (see related story).
Police officers from around the region joined Officer Walker's family and his 22nd District colleagues in remembering his life.
Mayor Nutter said he was sick of the violence on the streets that took the life of a good man and a good cop.
"I'm angry," the mayor said. "I'm very angry that someone would kill Moses Walker. Very angry about that."
Nutter thanked the officers and citizens who helped police arrest two men in Walker's murder (see related story), and he quoted the Bible: "Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord."
And then Mayor Nutter received applause from the congregation at Deliverance Evangelistic Church when he added, "But while those two are in custody, and here on this Earth, their butts are mine."
Philadelphia police commissioner Charles Ramsey said people like Moses Walker were put on Earth for a reason, and he hoped Walker realized the impact he had on so many lives.
