Sixers Get Their Guy

"With the 2nd pick of the 2010 NBA Draft, the Philadelphia 76ers select Evan Turner from Ohio State University."
Nobody was surprised when commissioner David Stern made the announcement.
Turner, the NCAA national player of the year, averaged 20 points, nine rebounds, and six assists per game this past season for the Buckeyes. The 21-year-old can't wait to start his career in the NBA:
"I have a lot of demands of myself, you know, I'm going to play hard and work hard, and I expect myself to be great. If Philly expects me to be great, then we have a mutual understanding."
As for where he fits into the lineup, some experts say the 6'7" junior is a prototype shooting guard but he can also play the point and small forward positions.
Sixers GM Ed Stefanski praised Turner's versatility:
"This kid is unselfish. He makes good decisions, tries to get people the basketball. He's a teriffic mid-range shooter. His defense is good. It was a consensus by all of us, all of the scouts, Evan was the guy for us."
New coach Doug Collins says he's looking forward to strong play on the perimiter by adding Turner to an exciting group of veterans.
