Shore Rentals Going Fast, Realtors Say
By Steve Tawa
VENTNOR, N.J. (CBS) - Realtors at the New Jersey shore say folks hunkered down during all of those winter storms surfed the internet, to make sure they could dip their toes in the water, this summer.
Broker Mary Lou Ferry, based in Ventnor, says seasonal rentals are picking up nicely, especially because of activity in nearby Atlantic City, as a new Mayor and the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority promote community and economic development projects.
"We did a two week rental just yesterday for $3000 a week," she said.
Louis Solomon and his wife, Susan, rent and sell homes from their office in Margate.
"There's not much left to rent," Susan said.
"You can have the nice residential feel, the seagulls, the beach and the boardwalk, and yet, minutes away is the action in Atlantic City, if you want," Louis says internet traffic has now turned into on site visits.
"When they come over that bridge and smell that salt air, it's very therapeutic. The whole stress level comes way down."
