ShopRite Recalls Several Cookies, Possibly Containing Metal Shavings

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- ShopRite has recalled several different cookies due to them possibly containing metal shavings.

Earlier this month, the store announced a recall on Country Home Gourmet Chocolate Chunk Salted Caramel Cookies that are sold in the Fresh Bake department at ShopRite. The company announced that the cookies being recalled were sold between July 19 and August 4.

The original recall, announced on August 5, also indicated that the Gourmet Chocolate Chunk Salted Caramel Cookies were the only product, sold in the department, involved in the recall.

Now, the company is recalling all cookies produced by Country Home that were sold between July 19 and August 15 for the same reason. ShopRite is calling the decision to broaden the recall a precautionary measure.

Customers who have the cookies at home are being encouraged to not eat them and return them to the store. No injuries or illnesses have been reported according to the store.

You can visit ShopRite's website for a full list of products involved in the recall.
