Shooting Victim Found On Side Of Road In Falls Township, Police Say
FALLS TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) -- Police say a detective found a shooting victim on the side of the road on Lincoln Highway at North Olds Boulevard in Falls Township, Bucks County on Tuesday. The victim was shot in the neck and taken to the hospital.
Police took persons of interest in to be interviewed after eyewitnesses pointed them out to police. They were released Tuesday evening.
Police are still trying to track down the shooter and they're hoping you can help.
"I heard three pops and I thought it was one of those cars with exhaust," Fairless Hills resident Scott Fontana said.
Those pops were the sound of gunfire, and now a man is fighting for his life after being shot in the neck Tuesday afternoon in Falls Township.
"I looked out the window and I saw a car going up on to the grass real slow and it just went across the street," Fontana said.
Falls Township Police say it happened around 3 p.m. at the intersection of North Olds Boulevard and Lincoln Highway in Fairless Hills, Bucks County.
"There were two vehicles -- the victim's vehicle and the suspect vehicle -- and apparently they were both shooting at each other. The victim also fired rounds at his aggressor," Falls Township Police Lt. Henry Ward said.
The victim was airlifted to a hospital in Philadelphia. Police say the shooter may have been driving this vehicle before fleeing on foot.
"We did then have reports from neighbors in the area of a suspect, which is a skinny black male with short hair, last seen with black pants, no shirt running and jumping over fences. He then approached one neighbor and asked to use her phone," Ward said.
That neighbor refused and called the police instead. But the suspect was able to get away even after a K-9 and helicopter search.
