Shooting, Stabbing Takes 2 Lives In Northeast, Northwest Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Authorities say a shooting and a stabbing claimed two more lives in Philadelphia overnight.
Police say a teenager was shot and killed on a northwest Philadelphia recreation center playground.
A police spokeswoman says gunfire erupted at about 11 p.m. Friday at Charles M. Finley Recreation Center near the city's Mount Airy neighborhood.
The 17-year-old youth was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
At about 1:40 a.m. Saturday, a man was found with a stab wound to the chest in the Port Richmond section of northeast Philadelphia.
He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead just after 2 a.m. Saturday.
