Sex Trafficker Sentenced As Juvenile Victim Speaks About The Trauma

By Tony Hanson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A Chester woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for sex trafficking three women, including a juvenile victim who has told the court she will never be the same.

The 19-year-old victim, who was 17 when she was forced into prostitution through threats and beatings with a gun to her head -- literally, has told the court she has trust issues even with those closest to her:

"But I can never even open up to them about my true self because of the negative stigma that comes with the nature of the crimes committed against me. I am forever haunted by the feeling of being unclean and unpure."

Authorities say the teen escaped after three weeks and travel to several states with the help of a John. She was able to call her mother who called police. She says she still can't understand it:

"How could they be so cruel. I can't even fathom the way that their minds work."

The defendant told the court she is sorry and she is not the monster she has been made out to be.
