Fire Rips Through Rowhomes In Southwest Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A fire ripped through five rowhomes, displacing several people in Southwest Philadelphia.
The blaze broke out on the 4000 block of Saybrook Avenue around 9:30 a.m. Monday.
Fire officials say it started in a unit at the end of this line of rowhomes and tore through the rest.
A woman who didn't want to be identified made it out moments before the flames consumed her home.
"When I came out, the block was just filled with thick dark smoke and I was able to get out of the block."
Eyewitness News is told ten people in four families were displaced, including at least one child.
One neighbor was treated for minor injuries and a firefighter was transported for heat exhaustion, Eyewitness News is told.

Officials say the fire was placed under control just after 10 a.m.
The American Red Cross is supplying food and shelter for the people who were evacuated.
Fire officials are investigating the cause.
