HAVERTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- "Hoops From The Heart" is a Martin Luther King Day of Service initiative that will feature several youth basketball clinics across Delaware County for kids in grades one through 8. The clinics are looking to raise money for the Community Action Agency of Delaware County.
Bobbi Morgan is the head women's basketball coach at Haverford College, and she helped start "Hoops from the Heart" back in 2002 while she was coaching at Haverford High.
Morgan says that first year it was just the one clinic. "We have since expanded it throughout Delaware County. We have a clinic at Cabrini, Widener, Neumann, Haverford College and Springfield/Delco. A lot of the basketball coaches in the area have volunteered to have their teams and themselves run these clinics to not only make it a fun day for the kids, but to raise money for the Community Action Agency."
The clinics run on Monday morning most of them going from 9 to noon. Cost of the clinics ranges from twenty to 30 dollars and each player also asked to donate a non perishable food item that will go to the Life Center of Eastern Delaware County.
