By John McDevitt
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Memorial Day observances will take place throughout the Delaware Valley on Monday, including one in Society Hill.
For the past eleven years, Memorial Day observances have been held at the Korean War Memorial with a different theme each year.
The Memorial's president is Bill Kelly. He says this year, a group that assists wounded veterans will be highlighted.
Kevin McCloskey of Philadelphia, who was wounded while fighting in Afghanistan in 2008, will be one of the speakers.
"He was a driver of a vehicle blown up by an IED, lost part of both his legs, he also broke his wrist, collar bone and lost sight in one eye and major burns," explains Kelly. "And he wishes to attend and speak to his fellow veterans as to the project."
Former Navy pilot and former CBS3 meteorologist Tom Lamaine will also a speaker.
All are welcome to attend the 11 a.m. ceremony at 2nd and Dock Streets on Monday.
