UPDATE: Route 202 Reopens In Chester County Following Multi-vehicle Crash
TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) -- Traffic in both directions on Route 202 in Chester County was shutdown Tuesday following a crash that involved several vehicles.
The multi-car crash happened at about 8:46 a.m. on U.S. Route 202 northbound near Cedar Hollow Road in Tredyffrin Township. The crash occurred in a construction zone.
Chopper 3 HD was over the scene where it appeared at least six cars and a tractor-trailer were involved in the crash. The tractor-trailer ended up flipped over on its side.
Four people were injured. Three were taken to local hospitals, where they were treated and released. One was medevaced to Reading Hospital and is now in stable condition.
A divider that separates the northbound and southbound lanes was damaged during the crash.
Following the crash, the road was initially shut down. Route 202 northbound was later opened at Chesterbrook Blvd, but the southbound lanes at the same location remained closed, with traffic being diverted at Chesterbrook Blvd.
But around 1 p.m., officials announced the road had reopened.
Officials continue to investigate the accident.
