SEPTA Urges Sports Fans To Hop On An Express Train

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – As you make your plans for the day, you'll be facing extra congestion on the roadways as the Phillies game begins at 1:35 p.m. and the Flyers take to the ice at 3 p.m.
SEPTA's Andrew Busch says there is one sure fire way to avoid the mess and still get to the game on time.
"Our sports express service on the Broad Street line is running approximately an hour before the first pitch of each Phillies game and also about an hour before the Flyers vs. Devils game at 3:00 p.m."
Those trains run every 10 minutes. And a trip from City Hall to the Stadium complex takes just eight minutes.
"What I'm going to ask you to do is to ask you to have some patience and allow us to get you out in a reasonable amount of time," says Philadelphia's Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Everett Gillison.
He says parking in Center City and hopping on SEPTA is always an option.
"Actually, that's the way I do it!"
