By Steve Beck
NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) – An unidentified number of passengers were forced to exit a SEPTA train after the train somehow pulled down overhead wires Tuesday morning.
The situation played out at about 11 a.m. on the Manayunk-Norristown regional rain line near Ford Street and E. Washington Street in Norristown.
Officials say a SEPTA regional rail train inexplicably pulled down some overhead wires, which landed on top of the train.
PECO officials were called to the scene to shutdown power to the lines.
At about 11:30 a.m., the passengers were taken off of the train and boarded a SEPTA bus.
Service on the Manayunk-Norristown regional rain line was suspended as crews investigated the situation.
The incident remains under investigation.
