SEPTA To Offer Free, Pepsi Max-Sponsored Rides For Winter Classic

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – It's a first for SEPTA. A soft drink company is sponsoring free rides on the entire Broad Street Line for the NHL Winter Classic on Monday for seven hours.
Pepsi Max will pay for your subway ride during a certain part of the day Monday, no matter if you're going to the Winter Classic or not.
"Anybody who is going to ride the Broad Street Line on Monday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. will be able to ride for free, and that includes no charge for regular fares or transfers. So we invite people to come down to the Broad Street Line, go down to the game, and if they have anywhere else they would like to go, hop on the subway and take a free ride," says SEPTA Spokesman Andrew Busch.
He says regular rates apply to all other SEPTA transit services.
Also, SEPTA will add eight "Sports Express" trains on the Broad Street Line that will run every 10 minutes starting around 1130 a.m.
The Flyers and Rangers face off at the sports complex in South Philadelphia at 1 p.m.
