SEPTA Sex Assault Suspect Arrested
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Thanks to tips sent in to Philadelphia police, a suspect wanted in connection with a sexual assault is now off city streets.
Joseph Woods, 41, was arrested on June 14th in connection with a sexual assault that happened just off the SEPTA Broad Street line to Lehigh Avenue (see previous story).
When the victim exited the concourse on the night of May 26, 2012, she noticed a man following her. The man approached her, put a knife against her stomach and forced her into a parking lot, where he sexually assaulted her.
Surveillance footage of the suspect was released to the public and aired on CBS3, and on June 13th, several tips came into police identifying the suspect as Woods.
Joseph Woods is facing charges that include robbery and rape.
