SEPTA: Person Struck By Train Along Market-Frankford Line

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police and fire officials are investigating a person being struck by a train along SEPTA's Market-Frankford Line.

The incident happened around noon Saturday at 2nd Street Station.

The person was taken to Jefferson University Hospital. He's described as a male, 37.

When he was hit by the train he fell over the platform, suffered facial injuries and the partial amputation of his right foot.

SEPTA commuters had to use shuttle buses between Spring Garden and 5th Street Stations for a little more than an hour before regular service was restored.
