SEPTA, NJT Make Schedule Adjustments For New Year's Eve
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If you plan to take public transportation this holiday weekend, remember to check the schedules.
Today, SEPTA trains, buses, trolleys and subways are running on a Saturday schedule, that means service is less frequent than a normal weekday.
Spokeswoman Heather Redfern says outbound train service will be extended tonight to get you home if you're coming downtown. "There are trains that will leave Market East after one o'clock in the morning for anyone who heads down to Penns Landing for the fireworks and that gives them enough time to get back to the station to get home."
New Jersey Transit trains are operating on a modified weekeday schedule with extra service to and from New York and the bus schedules vary by route.
Tomorrow, New Year's day, NJT trains run on a weekend schedule with buses varying by route. SEPTA runs on a Sunday timetable tomorrow with some bus detours around the Mummers Parade.
