SEPTA Makes Changes To Regional Rail Schedule

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - SEPTA regional rail riders will have to make an adjustment to their travel arrangements starting Sunday due to changes in SEPTA's schedules.

SEPTA makes these changes every so often, usually to accommodate its railroad maintenance schedule, says spokeswoman Heather Redfern. A couple modifications this time mark the end of repairs, but the major change in this round affects midday riders on a particular line.

"The catenary wires on the Norristown line date back to 1933 and it's necessary to reduce the midday, weekday service on that line; so from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., train service is going to be altered so our crews can work," said Redfern.

Redfern urges everyone to make sure they know the new schedule in time for Monday's commute.
