SEPTA Loaning 31 Buses To New Jersey Transit
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Transit is getting a helping hand from their colleagues in Philadelphia.
The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority is loaning 31 of its buses to NJ Transit, which will use the vehicles to support shuttle service for New Jersey commuters traveling to New York City.
NJ Transit was severely affected by the superstorm and had to shut down train service until Friday, when it restored limited rail service. NJ Transit resumed trips on another four rail lines on Sunday morning.
SEPTA officials say that loaning buses to NJ Transit won't cause overcrowding or create any problems for SEPTA riders.
