SEPTA Announces Plans For Key Card Program Debut
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - SEPTA has announced its slow roll out of the new key card, which makes its debut in about two months.
SEPTA's Deputy General Manager Rich Burnfield says the magnetic chip cards will be available beginning Monday, June 13th to the first 10,000 riders who want them.
"They can purchase either a weekly or monthly pass on the key card, and passes will be available at twelve locations throughout the SEPTA transit system," he tells KYW Newsradio.
They will be distributed at six locations along the Market Frankford El Line, six along the Broad Street Line and the passes will also be available at SEPTA headquarters at 1234 Market Street.
Burnfield says the passes will be good for transit on all buses, trolleys, subways and the Norristown High Speed Line.
He says SEPTA will also be welcoming feed back from riders on how the key card works for them.
