Seeking Tickets for NHL Winter Classic? Sticker Shock and Confusion Ahead...

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The NHL "Winter Classic" is two weeks from today, at Citizens Bank Park. It will bring the eyes of the nation to South Philadelphia as the Flyers and Rangers clash, but will it bring you to the ballpark, converted for the occasion?
The good news: there are lots of tickets available. The bad news is that you may need a second mortgage to afford them.
A survey of online ticket sites, many trying to resell tickets purchased at face value, finds listings from $350 for outfield seats -- where you'll need binoculars to see the rink -- to an eye-popping $9,990 for infield section 115, 23 rows up from the goal line.
But these prices may be just dreams in the sellers' eyes. StubHub says the current average for tickets it has actually sold is $512, with a range of $300 to $945.
If history is any guide, you can expect considerable movement in prices as the big day approaches.
But be careful on two fronts:
First, there are also a lot of tickets online for the alumni game, also listed as "Flyers-Rangers," but on December 31st. Bid on or buy the tickets for the game you actually want. (The Winter Classic is January 2nd -- see related story.)
And check the seating chart. This is in a baseball stadium, and some seats may not be a good fit for hockey viewing.
