Security A Top Priority At New Jewish History Museum
Security will be a high priority when a Philadelphia Museum relocates this fall to a new building on Independence Mall.
KYW's Lynne Adkins reports The National Museum of American Jewish History opens November 12th and president and CEO Michael Rosenzweig says the six-floor building will have expensive state of the art security, including armed guards who are already on patrol:
"We think that hiding them would be antithetical to what we're trying to achieve. First we want visitors to know that we have ample security and we want those with different designs to know that we have security and it's visible."
He says security is considered a high priority because it is a Jewish museum. It will be more visible on the mall and have a lot more visitors and it's much larger, six floors instead of one.
