Second Annual 'Run For The Stripes' 5k Takes Place At Philadelphia Zoo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)—Families can have fun and raise money to battle certain cancers at the Philadelphia Zoo next Saturday.
November 9th is the second annual Run For The Stripes 5k. Race director, Jan Eisner says the money raised will benefit neuroendocrine tumor research at Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center.
Eisner says,"The reason it's called run for the stripes is because since neuroendocrine tumors are a rare cancer, we've adopted the zebra as our mascot, because in the medical community the term zebra is universally used to reference an orphan or rare disease."
The run takes place at the Zoo and the entrance fee includes zoo admission.
Last year's event raised $7,500 and Eisner expects this run will be even more successful. .
