Schuylkill River Boat Tours To Return This Spring
By Ian Bush
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - After a year off the water, Schuylkill River boat tours are coming back this spring.
One of the cruises takes you through the Secrets of the Schuylkill.
"It's a one-hour narrated tour that does a six-mile loop of the river, going from Fairmount Dam to Bartram's Garden and back," says Schuylkill River Development Corporation CEO Joseph Syrnick.
He says another trip, which starts on Mother's Day, goes from Walnut Street to the Garden and gives riders two hours to explore.
"Through October we have a variety of both tours, which are running mostly Thursday nights and on weekends."
Syrnick says the design of the touring boat is reminiscent of a 1920s yacht, with has some open-air seating.
"You're seeing the city from a different vantage point, and it's probably something you've never seen before."
