Schuylkill Banks Riverboat Tours Resume After One Year Layoff

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- After a one year hiatus, the Schuylkill Banks Riverboat Tours are back, giving people a glimpse of some of the gems along what's called "Philadelphia's Hidden River."
A dispute with it's operator led Schuylkill Banks River Boat Tours to halt operations for one year, but now they're back.
"We're very excited about having a new start this year," said Joe Syrnick, President of the Schuylkill River Development Corporation, "with a new boat and a new operator and it's all very exciting."
Syrnick says Schuylkill, which means hidden river in Dutch possesses a lot of hidden landmarks that are often overlooked.
"It's just a great way to get out and experience the river and see what went on in Philadelphia," he said. "You'll see the river, the river banks from a completely different view point and you'll understand a little about the kind of industry that made Philadelphia grow."
The three hour tours run four times a day, Thursday through Sunday until mid-October.
