Save Some Green Store In Center City Celebrates It's First Anniversary
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Today marks a year of life for a little sprout of a store, a beacon of green amid brick and concrete.
An open house on Sunday marks the first anniversary for Save Some Green, on Chestnut Street just past 20th. It offers a bewildering array of products other than food in a small space.
For proprietor Judah Press (photo), this is a calling, "I gave up a regular, great business job in New York to go green, and I have a Master's in Environmental Studies from Penn and we're serious about it and we think it's very practical for Philadelphians to be better with the environment, themselves and the community."
Save Some Green also has internet stores on eBay and Amazon, so why the physical one? Two reasons, says Press: some customers want that in-person experience. The other is his store is a green resource too.
