Santa Using Social Media At Montgomery Mall
NORTH WALES, Pa. (CBS) - The holiday shopping season gets into full swing at one local mall Friday night with the arrival of Santa Claus, and this year there's a new way for kids to reach out to St. Nick with their holiday wish list.
Less than a week after Halloween, the Montgomery Mall in North Wales, Pa. will welcome Santa with a parade that gets underway at 6 p.m. This year, the mall is launching a program that allows kids and parents to "tweet" their wish list to Santa.
Mall marketing manager Kirsten Boettcher says they will get a response designed to make their shopping easier:
"Customers can find out where a specific item is located in the mall and by knowing what stores carry, the item they are looking for and at what price, shoppers can save time and create their holiday budget accordingly."
The tweeting program runs through December 25th and you can reach Santa by logging onto Twitter and using the "handle" @MontgoMallSanta. Boettcher calls it the 21st century-style version of the traditional letter.
