Sandy Brings Anxiety To Some Students Off From School

AMBLER, Pa. (CBS) -- It was another day off for area students on Tuesday. Many of them are learning about living through hurricanes for the first time -- and they're finding it's not quite as fun as a snow day.
The Walsh household in Ambler has been lively with four kids unexpectedly off from school. For 10-year-old Lauren, this break came with just a tiny bit of anxiety.
"I was kind of scared," she said, "because I never experienced a hurricane."
Her younger brother Aiden agreed it was a little scary, but just a little.
"I didn't really freak out or run around or anything," he said, "because I knew it wasn't going to come that far to us."
For big sister, Maddie, who's 12, the issue was boredom.
"It was just different," she said, "because normally when we have off school, we have snow days and the snow comes and we go outside and run around and play and we can't do that, we have to just stay inside and whatever happens, happens.
Maddie said she'll be glad to get back to her normal routine, as most parents will, too.
