Same-Sex Marriage Causing an Upswing in Pennsylvania Wedding Events

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The legalization of same-sex marriage in Pennsylvania (see related story) is a huge win not only for the LGBT community, but also for the wedding industry.
Jaimi Gordon, with the Loew's Hotel in Philadelphia, says she's noticed an increase in wedding inquires since Wednesday, after a federal judge struck down Pennsylvania's same-sex marriage ban.
"It's great for business," she says. "It's great for those of us who are in the hospitality industry, and it certainly is a reason (for us) to celebrate because it means more potential business for us, the opportunity to host more events."
And Gordon says that instead of booking their weddings a year in advance, many same-sex couples are looking to do short-turnaround weddings, booking the hotel's available dates in 2014.
"As soon as the announcement came and the lines were forming at City Hall for the licenses, I think that the couples were immedietly looking to plan their weddings," she says.
