Safety Concerns Force PennDOT To Close Sellers Avenue Bridge In Ridley Park
RIDLEY PARK, Pa. (CBS) -- Safety concerns have forced a bridge in Delaware County to suddenly shut down. The Sellers Avenue Bridge in Ridley Park is closed indefinitely after PennDOT inspectors found some of the beams deteriorating.
The bridge was originally built in 1904 before being reconstructed in 1952.
Plans were already in the works to replace the bridge.
PennDOT will start accepting construction proposals early next year.
