Ryan Howard Moved Out Of Cleanup Spot For Monday's Game
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Is it the sign of things to come, or just Ryne Sandberg trying something new in Spring Training? Ryan Howard is not hitting cleanup today in Florida.
Howard will hit in the fifth spot in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Atlanta Braves. Hitting cleanup is Marlon Byrd, who was signed by the Phillies during the offseason to a two-year contract.
Ben Revere is leading off for the Phillies, followed by Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley, Byrd and Howard.
Howard is hitting .200 so far this Spring, with an OPS of .538, without a home run.
