Rutgers Library in Camden Makes Room For A Public Library Branch Within
CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) - Camden has a new library opening this fall on the campus of Rutgers University, thanks to a unique partnership.
It's being called an "innovative social model" -- the partnership of a city, a county library system, and a university to create a new county library branch on the campus of Rutgers University.
The new library branch will occupy a portion of the lower level of the Paul Robeson Library (above), and will have its own entrance for the public.
"I live here in the community, next to Rutgers," says Camden County freeholder Ian Leonard, "and I thought that if I could get a buy-in from Rutgers to do that, we could create a model like no other. And I think that this was the appropriate day to present this to the community."
The new branch, still unnamed, will open sometime in the fall.
