Rutgers Easing Grade Requirements After Storm
NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) — Rutgers University is letting students struggling to recover from last week's superstorm take their classes on a pass/no-credit basis this semester.
The university says students should first seek academic help and speak with their professors if dealing with the aftermath of the storm is getting in the way of school work.
The school says students with extreme difficulty can also ask if they can finish the semester's work over the winter break.
And as a last resort, they can apply for help that will ensure their grade-point averages won't be hurt. Approved students can receive either a passing grade for a C or better, or no credit if they can't do that.
Students will have to decide by Nov. 19 whether to seek that option.
