Rowan Hosts Wesley In Big D III Match-Up
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Two of the top programs in all of Division III college football will meet up on Saturday in Glassboro, New Jersey, as the Rowan Profs host the Wesley Wolverines.
If you want to talk pedigree, these two programs have great ones. Rowan went to the NCAA Tournament last season and that was their 14th berth since 1991. Wesley had made nine tournament appearances since 2000, inlcuding the last eight years.
This season, Rowan is 3-2 after an upset loss at Morrisville State last weekend. Wesley is 5-1 and ranked 11th in the country.
Profs head coach Jay Accorsi talks about where his team is halfway through the season.
"I was hoping to be around 4-1," Accorsi tells KYW Newsradio. "You know 3-2, it's not bad, it's not great. We've played some great out of conference teams in Delaware Valley, Framingham State and obviously now, Wesley. We've played some good conference teams in Brockport, Montclair and Morrisville. So we're near where I thought we would be this time of the season. We're fairly healthy, so that's always a good thing."

As for the match-up, Accorsi says it is critical his team not make the big mistakes in this one.
"We can not afford to turn it over," Accorsi says. "We can not afford to give them a short field and we can not afford to give up big plays against them. They are very dynamic offensively, so we need to keep everything in front and try not to give up any big plays."
Rowan is actually 6-0 against Wesley all-time, but the last meeting came back in 2003.
Kick-off at Coach Richard Wackar Stadium is set for 2:00pm on Saturday.
