Rowan Hosts Cyber Security Session
GLASSBORO, NJ (CBS) -- A cyber security conference was held at Rowan University in Glassboro.
This session dealt specifically with cyber crime and featured state and federal officials talking about how people and businesses can better protect themselves.
Industry consultant David Humphreys, an adjunct professor at Rowan, organized the event.
"This is part of our community outreach," he told KYW Newsradio. "It's about security awareness and educating the business professionals about particular issues experienced with social engineering and ransomware."
Participants got an up close look at how easy it is to hack into a business.
This also served as a forum for students majoring in cyber security to network with companies and government agencies as they look for internships or paid positions in the field.
