Rosenbach Museum Launches Civil War Blog
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A unique Civil War blog launching Saturday is ushering a new exhibit opening in December at the Rosenbach museum and library.
The blog is Today in the Civil War: Dispatches from the Rosenbach Collection, part of the museum's observance of the 150th anniversary of the conflict. The blog is being launched before The Civil War Begins, an exhibit of Civil War-era documents, that opens December 15th at the Rosenbach.
Assistant curator Katherine Haas says the blog, although separate, augments the exhibit experience:
"It allows you see many more items from our collection than we could possible fit into an exhibit and it also allows you to follow some of these people through time."
