Rose Wins US Open At Merion

ARDMORE, Pa. (CBS) - Justin Rose's success in Philadelphia continued this weekend.
Rose won the 2010 AT&T International at Aramark, and on Sunday, he earned his first ever major, the U.S. Open at Merion Golf Course.
"It's unbelievable," Rose said. "The Philly crowd remembered that. I felt like I had a lot of good will the whole week. I tried to feed off that energy as best I can."
It wasn't pretty down the stretch, but Rose played the 17 and 18 beautifully to get in the club house at 1 over par, while Phil Mickelson and Jason Day finished two shots back at 3-over.
After five, runner-up finishes in the US Open, Mickelson really felt like this was the year, but once again he couldn't seal the deal.
"For me it's very heartbreaking," Mickelson said. "This could have been a really big turnaround for me and how I look at the US Open and the tournament that I'd like to win after having so many good opportunities."
But while Mickelson and the others stumbled down the stretch, it was Rose who made fewer mistakes.
