Roman Catholic Boys Basketball Team Gets National Recognition

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The state champion Roman Catholic High School boys basketball team added another award to the trophy case this morning.
In front of the Roman Catholic junior and senior classes, the basketball team put another feather in their cap.
MaxPreps, a website dedicated to high school sports, and the Army National Guard, honored the team as part of its annual "Tour of Champions."
Head Coach Chris McNesby, grateful for the school community's support, says this is a day his team will never forget.
"For these young men to stamp some kind of legacy here with this type of award is something that will go down in history forever."
And what a year it's been. Roman Catholic winning its second straight national championship and Philadelphia Catholic League title, finishing up as the 12th ranked boys basketball team in the country.
Senior Tony Carr, who has Penn State hoops in his future, says what makes this honor even more special is who they're getting the honor from.
"The army is giving it to us, you know the hard work they put in day in and day out, and just to get this award means a lot to the school and also the basketball program."
