Rollins Leaves Game Against Nationals With Strained Groin
WASHINGTON (CBS/AP) – Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins left Sunday's game against the Washington Nationals with a strained right groin.
Rollins appeared to suffer the injury as he fielded a ground ball off the bat of Nationals catcher Jesus Flores in the second inning.
Rollins stayed in the game, but was replaced by Wilson Valdez in the third inning.
The team said he is day-to-day.
The former MVP missed 74 games last season with right calf strains, but has played in all but four of Philadelphia's games this season.
Rollins was expected to have an MRI on his groin on Monday.
