Robbery Suspect Shot In Southwest Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A suspect in a Southwest Philadelphia robbery was taken to an area hospital after a police officer reportedly shot him Saturday afternoon.
The shooting happened at about 5 p.m. after authorities say the suspect fled the Wine and Spirits store in the 6100 block of Woodland Avenue. An officer engaged in a foot pursuit of the man and during the chase the officer reportedly shot him once.
The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. His condition is not known at this time.
There were no injuries to police. An investigation is underway.
