Road Crews Ready For Latest Round Of Snow

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Yes, more snow, and more work for road crews this weekend as yet another winter storm passes through the Philadelphia region.
It's been a busy week and a much more action-packed winter than recent years -- and PennDOT will be out there again.
"We're getting ready to plow when necessary," says spokesman Charlie Metzger. "We feel that there's enough residual material down on the highways right now that we didn't have to brine."
They used plenty of salt after the last storm and it's still out on the highways giving them a head start. As for supplies, Metzger says they've used around 80,000 tons of salt so far, and have 60,000 in reserve.
Camden County's public works officials say they have 70 pieces of equipment stationed at their facility in Lindenwald, ready to salt and plow the 400 miles of roads across the county. They also want to be prepared for the high winds and the possibility of trees going down on the roads, so they'll have chainsaws and tree removal equipment on hand.
SEPTA says regional rail trains may be delayed up to 20 minutes and is asking commuters to plan ahead, especially in this brutal cold.
Philadelphia International Airport isn't reporting any problems, but, depending on what Mother Nature brings later in the day, that could change quickly.
