Riley Cooper Loves, Is Going To Miss Andy Reid But Thinks Change Is Good
By Spike Eskin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The media and fans in Philadelphia often had some choice things to say about former Eagles head coach Andy Reid. Players however, have always been a different story.
"I [loved playing for Andy Reid, I really did. I'm going to miss him," Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper told 94WIP's Angelo Cataldi and The WIP Morning Show. Cataldi is in Clearwater, Florida for Phillies Spring Training, where Cooper is from and still calls home. "I love the guy to be honest with you, and I'm not just saying that. He's not the coach of the Eagles anymore, so doesn't listen to this. I am going to miss him. He's a players coach, he really is. He's always got your back and he's never going to throw you under the bus. I mean, you see him after games where someone can drop a wide-open touchdown or miss tackles and he's taking the blame. He's not out there playing, but he's taking the blame for it. So all the players have so much respect for that guy, and he'll be missed, but as I tell everybody change can be good and we got Chip Kelly and a new staff coming in. We'll see how it works out."

Reid was replaced by Chip Kelly in January.
Cooper was drafted out of high school by the Phillies, but choose school over the pros. It was that decision that would eventually end up landing him in midnight green instead of Phillies red.
"I went to Florida and then I got drafted my junior year to the Texas Ranger," Cooper said. "I signed with them, I signed a contract and told them I'm going to go back for my senior year. I went back for my senior year of football, and I called them and said, 'Listen, I'm not doing that. I'm gonna do football.' It was a roller coaster ride, but I wouldn't change it for the world."
