WPHT's Rich Zeoli Talks To Lawyer Filing Class Action Suit Over 'Fight Of The Century'
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Attorney Marc Goldich has filed a class action suit against the parties involved in promoting the boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao alleging fraud after it was disclosed that Pacquiao participated in the fight with a serious shoulder injury.
Goldich, from the firm Sheller PC, spoke with Rich Zeoli on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT and claimed everyone involved with the organization of the event conspired to cover up Pacquiao's ailment.
"Manny Pacquiao lied. His promoters lied. His agents, who helped him fill out the form, lied. The Mayweather camp learned of this injury prior to the fight and they went on with the fight and the money grab. HBO and Showtime presumably learned of this injury prior to the start time of the fight and they did not cancel or postpone the fight. Remember they are the ones who also made representations of what this fight would be and that these would be healthy fighters. This injury occurred four weeks prior to the fight. Showtime, HBO, and the promoters all knew and still went on with the fight."

He insisted that the fight would not have been permitted to take place if the damage done to his shoulder was revealed.
"If this injury was disclosed to the public and to the Nevada Athletic Commission than either the fight would have been postponed or canceled or the public would not purchased tickets at the rate that they did because nobody would watch a one armed challenger fight a champion."
Goldich stated the only losers on the night of the 'Fight of the Century' were those who paid to see it.
"The consumers, they got shammed. Ultimately, this was a one armed challenger against the undefeated champ. It was misrepresented to the public. It was just a money grab."
